Minerva Statue Plaque

Minerva is a significant part of Erie County’s history and was the key feature at the beginning of the Erie City Library.

Minerva was purchased in 1899 for the opening of the Erie City Library on South Park Row, offering a spectacular feature for the patrons. Minerva was returned to the Erie County Library in 2019.

The Friends of the Erie County Library spearheaded the fundraising efforts for the restoration of Minerva and contributed to the design and completion of the pedestal.

For a donation of $100, an engraved plaque will be placed on one of the book spines that line the bottom of the pedestal.
